Our Process

Kim Manufacturing has complete in-house capabilities to take your concept and turn it into a finished product shipped anywhere in North America or the world. We are ISO 9001-2000 certified and committed to meeting your requirements on-time, every time.

We will gladly manufacture your product from pre-existing drawings. We can receive your drawings on paper or via standard electronic formats such as DWG, An AutoCAD drawing DXF, SAT and STEP. However, if you don't have a completed design, don't worry. Our skilled staff of engineers can take your concept and requirements and design a functional, cost-effective product. We use the efficiencies of our production equipment to reduce material scrap and speed production, which results in lower costs and faster deliveries for you. We utilize our state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design software to document all details of the design and create computerized production programs.

If your product requires certification to a standards body or code, such as Underwriter's Laboratories, we can work with you to get it certified in a timely manner. Our Engineering staff has extensive experience designing and certifying products that meet the earthquake resistance requirements of Telcordia Shake Table Test and the International Building Code. We have the software and expertise to perform in-house certification to the International Building Code's earthquake resistance standards using Finite Element Analysis. If you need physical vibration testing (i.e. shake table testing), we have relationships with national testing laboratories and the experience to design a product to pass this rigorous testing the first time. We have a Pennsylvania certified Professional Engineer on staff and have access to a California Structural Engineer if required.

Once we have a product design in hand, the next step is production. We use Enterprise Resource Planning software to record, schedule and monitor the entire production environment. This system allows us to store orders, product information and inventory levels and accurately plan production and purchasing to get your product manufactured and out the door when you need it.

Our ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturing facilities Packaging allow us to cut, form, bend, weld and powder coat mild steel sheet, as well as stainless steel and aluminum. Throughout production, our operators perform numerous quality checks to ensure that your product is produced to your specifications every time. Where possible, we use the high accuracy and repeatability of our Computer Numeric Controlled equipment to produce parts that will fit together precisely with the use of minimal fixturing to increase production speed and reduce scrap.

Once your product is completed, it will move to our Packaging Department. We can handle packaging requirements from simply banding your product to a skid to picking multiple items and assembling them into one package. We package all products carefully to prevent the least damage during shipping and handling. You can pick up your product from our location or we can ship your product anywhere in North America and the world, using any regional, national or international shipper you require.
